Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is a popular American TV personality and actress. She has a large following throughout America and around the world due to her performance as the an actress in the TV The Closer.' Sedgwick's passion for performing arts, Broadway and acting began when she was just 12 years old. She was introduced to Broadway by her mother, who had an interest in the field. When she was of 16 that Sedgwick was offered her first acting job professionally in the TV show 'Another World'. Sedgwick went on to play minor roles on TV, but it was the idea of making it big as an actor that enticed her. She got noticed on the big-screen for the first-time with her role as a supporting actress in the movie 'Born on the 4th of July', in which she appeared in the film with Tom Cruise. Sedgwick was able to continue getting parts as she became an instant hit with this film. There were other films like : Singles, Heart and Souls and Phenomenon. Sedgwick dated Kevin Bacon in a TV show known as Lemon Sky. She married him at the age of 22. Sedgwick made a mark on the American television industry through her effortless performing in 'The Closer', a series that had seven seasons of running and won her many high-profile awards such as the Golden Globe and Emmy.
